Samsung has announced the new 50-megapixel gn2 sensor which is the largest sensor to be released for a smartphone the gn2 is a one over the 1.12-inch sensor with 1.4-micrometer pixels that promises incredible improvements over the predecessor it's got four pixels binning to absorb more light in those low lit conditions as well as a new algorithm that upscales to 100 megapixels to provide a great variety of photo and video options while I have seen sources claim this sensor could be used in the Samsung galaxy z fold 3 it's currently unknown and it seems very unlikely the galaxy fold isn't known for its photography and to be honest the 12-megapixel camera we had in the predecessor already performed very well so I can't see them changing to a high megapixel sensor just yet next up we've got the news.
that the Samsung galaxy z fold 3 is going to be coming with at least 256 gigs of internal storage and that's hardly surprising sound mobile issued a report that states that the galaxy's z fold 3 is coming under the model number sm f926 and it's going to come with at least 256 storage with an option of 512.
now given that the predecessor launched with these storage options as well it's always likely to be the case next up we've got more confirmation that the Samsung galaxy z4 3 is going to be coming with s pen support we've got reports from et news, as well as sam mobile and the reports, state that Samsung has worked out how to get the s-pen working with the z fold 3. now when it comes to s-pen support the z fold 3 is, of course, going to need a digitizer that can recognize the s-pen as well as a protective layer to stop the s-pen damaging the display now Samsung uses ultra-thin glass on the fold series so it looks like the new ultra-thin glass on the z fold 3 has improved durability and will protect against scratches as well as being able to fold now not only are we going to get s pen support but we've also got the news that the Sam ng galaxy z fold 3 is gonna be the first device from Samsung to feature the in the display selfie camera.
now last week we had a tweet from ice universe to say that Samsung is very likely to adopt UPC in the galaxy fold three now ice universe normally gives quite cryptic tweets so for him to come out and say something like this then it means he must have some solid information now UPC, of course, stands for under panel camera and it makes sense to debut this inside the z fold 3 given it's their most premium model now Samsung has already teased the in-display camera for their laptops so it must mean it's nearly ready for consumers, of course, someone else has already released a smartphone with an in-display selfie camera but quite frankly.
it was awful it took poor quality images and it was not fit for purpose now if all of these leaks are correct and we've got an in-display selfie camera as well as s pen support it means the galaxy's z fold 3 is going to be an incredibly versatile folding phone we've already had plenty of information about the specs design and the expected pricing so we're gonna run through all of that now to help you guys decide if this is the phone for you for my regular viewers you guys would have already seen this so just jump to the next video but if you are new here then make sure you hit subscribe and we'll get right into it.
the inner display is likely to remain a similar size considering we've already got trimmed down bezels we can expect a 7.6 inch dynamic AMOLED display with a resolution of 1768 by 2208 and this will have a 120-hertz refresh rate the front screen is likely to remain the same as well which is a 6.2 inch super AMOLED with a resolution of 2260x816 the biggest change here is, of course, can be the screen protector with 60-micrometer ultra-thin glass that not only helps with the durability but should also provide a nicer touch experience for the user when it comes to the selfie camera we've got no information yet many reports and rumors are hinting at the first in-display selfie camera.
but we've got no idea what sensor or lens Samsung is using for this on the rear it's likely to be a triple or a quad-camera setup now Samsung tend to keep things similar across their range so I would expect the new camera module that we're seeing in the s range to be present and it's likely that they'll be using the similar 12-megapixel sensors instead of going with the 108 megapixel hm2 when it comes to ram and storage Samsung tend to push things high with the fold models so I would estimate the galaxy z fold 3 to have 16 gigs of ddr5 ram this will be coupled with 128 256 or 512 storage.
it's most likely going to be powered by the snapdragon 875 plus in the Exynos equivalent whatever they decide to name it and there are rumors of a 5 000 milliamp-hour battery but personally, I don't see that happening they're likely to remain at a similar size so with improvements of space internally in new tech I would estimate a minor increase so maybe something like 4 600 milliamp hours it will of course ship with one UI 3 based on Android 11 and being so, early on color variants just cannot be confirmed.
it will probably have as much water protection as they can but we're unlikely to see any official IP ratings due to its difficult to waterproof design. we're expecting an August launch and if things carry on as normal when it comes to the pricing we, of course, know it's going to be a lot so we can expect between 2 000 and 2 100 if we see the usual price increment now, of course, a lot of this is just sensible estimates on top of the leaks we have because we're so far away from launch but I'll be keeping you guys up to date as any new news comes in as always though I would like to know your thoughts in the comments who out there is excited for the Samsung galaxy z fold 3.
